LG brings 84-inch Ultra HD TV to UK in time for Christmas

Not many people are likely to find one of these under the tree this Christmas, and that’s not just because of its immense size. But we can all hope anyway.

LG has today brought its 84-inch Ultra High-Definition TV (84LM960V) to the UK, and it will be available in a select number of stores ahead of Christmas – including John Lewis Sloane Square, Bentalls Kingston and Richer Sounds Southampton.

With its £22,499.99 suggested retail price, they probably won’t sell out too quickly.

Of course, this is the price to be at the leading edge of technology and LG’s mammoth set is ready for future Ultra HD (4K) broadcasts, as well as packing in a 2.2 speaker system that consists of two 10 Watt speakers and two 15 Watt woofers to ensure audio quality matches picture quality.

The LG Resolution Upscaler also ensures that, until you have some native content to enjoy, you can enhance the quality of existing material. Naturally, the TV also includes Smart TV functionality (bringing access to Lovefilm, Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Blinkbox and Knowhow Movies etc), Cinema 3D and it also ships with LG’s innovative Magic remote with both motion and voice control.

If you’re interested to see more, LG is currently running a road show to show off this set, as well as other LG products, at the following locations;

  • The Gadget Show (London ExCeL): 30 Nov-2 Dec
  • Bullring (Birmingham): 7 Dec-9 Dec
  • Westfield Stratford (London): 13 Dec-15 Dec
  • The Trafford Centre (Manchester): 21 Dec-24 Dec
